South Dakota quarter with die break.
Bet Your Last Cent on Pontiac in 1940, obverse, of this encased 1940 Canadian
cent. On the reverse: Take a Ride and You'll Buy. The cent is
AU with some red but because it is darker than the aluminum encasement it does

An Orco token (Osborne Register Co., Cincinnati, Ohio) for the Southern Rail
Road, Spencer, NC. Reverse reads "Good for All Privileges, Y.M.C.A.
This is an unusual combination of railroad and "Y" on this five cent
nickel token. It is worn but legible; we wish we could have gotten a
better scan as it is much more attractive to the eye. VG.
The official ANA (American Numismatic Association) set of medals for the 83rd. Anniversary
Convention. It was held at Bal Harbour, Florida. This is set #14 (a
low number) in its original plastic case. There are, as seen, three pieces
- silver, bronze and small bronze. A nice set, never out of the case.
Francis Scott Key in silver. Done by the National Commemorative
Society in 1964. It commemorates the Star Spangled Banner composed
by Francis Scott Key; Fort McHenry depicted on reverse. This is number
2752 and is either sterling or pure silver, we are uncertain; weighs close to

At the 1962 World's Fair, there was a display of a million silver dollars.
This tri-fold, which actually consists of six pages, gives a world of
information about them, how they were counted, weighed, transported. There
is an illustration of the official World's Fair medal as well. We have not
seen this piece before so consider it must be somewhat scarce. please
inquire.
The 1959 "Rush to the Rockies" medal as featured on page 50 of the
June Numismatist if you are an ANA member. In any case, this
marked the 100th. anniversary of the first mass settlement in the state after
the discovery of Gold in Central City, as well as the June '59 dedication of the
U.S. Air Force Academy just north of Colorado Springs. This was a limited
edition of 10,000; priced originally at $3.50, it sold out by the end of August
1959. It contains approximately 15 gm of sterling silver, is slightly larger than a half
dollar. We wonder how many were melted in the great silver rush of
1979-80?

what the caption on this old postcard says. Do you have any similar items

Bicentennial Penny - 1776-1976. There is a 1976D Lincoln cent in this
holder which also has an outline map of the United States on it just above date
and a Liberty Bell left of Lincoln's head above Liberty. Chronology of the
nation's history on the front of this card which continues inside. The
back lists the presidents of the U.S. up to and including 1974- Gerald
Ford. Copyright 1975 C.H.P. Inc. Nice condition, we are not certain
who the maker was and have not seen this before nor since we acquired just the
one.
This holder has two 1963 Lincoln cents on either side of a stamp which
commemorates the 100th. Anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation. In
very nice condition. Please email with any questions.
An embossed leather piece that I picked out of a token box on a dealer's table
back in 1980. Says it is Good for Free Coffee at any Meeting; North
Eastern Vecturist Assn. An online search reveals that they had a booth at
the big antique show in Atlantic City in March 2004, which means they are still
alive and well....good news. Measures a little longer than 3 inches, a little
taller than 1 inch. Please inquire
An official Bicentennial Medal, bronze, for the State of North Carolina, and
sold through the North Carolina Bankers' Association. In the original
cardboard holder. Depicts the seal of the State of North Carolina one
side; NC historical scenes and portraits other side; includes Wright Bros. and
their plane.
An elongated original Columbian commemorative half dollar from 1893. This
was done in 1992 for the 101st. ANA convention, held in Orlando, Florida; we
were told that there were 200 done, of which this is number 179. These do
not come along very often.
Matte Aluminum Mardi Gras token - you can see the very high relief and detailed
engraving. This is either a matte proof, or a matte unc.

Copper nickel composition, probably. We believe this to be from the
1920's.
A wooden transportation token from Macon, Georgia, issued in the 1960's or
1970's. Listed in Atwood. Only 500 of these were done for each of 12
aldermen, for them to hand out to senior citizens to familiarize them with the
new Macon Transit System. Generally very scarce. The condition is
unused; 1 1/2" diameter. This one from Keith
Stringfellow, Alderman. Please inquire.
N.Y.S.S. A mystery token for a mystery organization. Issued for the
N.Y.S.S. Annual Dinner, February 22nd., 1892. Within a wreath on the
reverse is a windmill over a square over a circle, in a field of stars with
N.Y.S.S. (New York Sailing Society?) - we are stumped; if you have a clue please
let us know? Condition XF, rim bump. The diameter is 1
1/4".
A medal designed by H. Alvin Sharpe, and struck for the Atlanta Coin Club's 50th
Anniversary. We ordered these from Sharpe, in 1978, when I was president
of the club. One hundred were struck. Struck in red bronze, frosted
mirror proof; a beautiful medal if I do say so. Please inquire.
A medal of President Ulysses S. Grant, done in very high relief (perhaps silver,
not marked but seems heavier than bronze and that may be tarnish on the
obverse). The maker is unknown. Inscribed "Italy".

A silver medal weighing 25 grams of .999 silver. This is of Woodrow Wilson,
the 28th. president of the U.S.; 1913-1921. There are initials P.A.M. at
left; just below the shoulder (his left) Ralph J. Menconi copyright mark and the
date 1962 - no doubt he was the sculptor.
Alaska 1959 Statehood Medal depicts William H. Seward on obverse; reverse shows
the Seal of the State - great detail, very attractive. Done in silver,
weighs .82 oz.
Bicentennial of The Charleston Museum - Oldest Museum in the Americas -
Sculptors Daniel Caimi and Vincent Miller. This medal done in Sterling
silver is a first edition by the Franklin Mint. It commemorates two
hundred years of operation and there is an accompanying broadside with an
interesting history of the museum. Proof quality, this is one of only 4005
minted. Done in 1973. Weighs approximately 3/4

Sidney Lanier 1842-1881 Elected in 1945, to the Hall of Fame for Great
Americans. He was a poet, musician, and a literary critic in the
post-Civil War South. When we lived on St. Simon's Island, Georgia, we
regularly passed Lanier's Oak where he was said to have written his poem
"The Marshes of Glynn". Julian H. Harris Sc. $4

A Stone Mountain Childrens Founders Roll Medal. These were given to
children who donated $1 toward the carving, pre-1924. They preceded the
well known Stone Mountain Half Dollar. Depicted on the front are three
mounted horsemen, representing Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, and Stonewall
Jackson; below "Childrens Founders Roll Stone Mountain Confederate
Memorial". On the reverse: a long set of steps leading up to a
columned building, past an eternal flame, with inscription "Entrance
Memorial Hall". This was proposed to be built, in addition to the
carving, but never came to fruition. Holed at top for a ribbon to be tied
around neck, as all are. HOLD
Royal Dublin Society, Ireland. A medallic admission ticket issued by the
Royal Dublin Society. It is struck in brass; obverse shows seated Hibernia
with harp and spear, "Nostri Plena Laborus" above, engraver's name
below - Parkes, Dublin"; reverse reads "Royal Dublin Society, Admit
One". I have seen two of these; one is in my collection. inquire
An early transportation token from Tennessee, depicting a horse drawn
streetcar. This was issued by the Jackson & Suburban Street RR
Co. "Good for one-half fare". One of the few tokens which
shows a horse drawn trolley car. Lustrous AU. inquire

the back and are marked "void". Beneath Safeway Stores it says
"In Counties of Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas Approved by U.S.D.A." making
these a three state used token, which we believe to be unusual. These were given during

users. These are no longer used, as actual cash is now permitted to be

Obverse depicts an exposition building enclosed in wreath; around edge
"Panama Pacific International Exposition, San Francisco, MCMXV"; on
tablet medal of award. Reverse: Eastside Beer Gold Medal Winner,
etc. Lovely, BU, a few toned spots as can be seen in scan.
Apollo 14 Mini Coin in silver. The silver this was minted from was carried
to the moon aboard that mission. See letter.
