An ugly but historical colonial note, it worked hard in its day. It is
worn as you can see on the front, as well as torn and backed. It is a Continental
note for one-third of a dollar, dated Feb. 17, 1776. The date is readable

A Colonial Connecticut, Revolutionary War note, issued 26 December 1781.
It is payable to Ralph Pomeroy, Esq.; D.Q.M. (Deputy Quartermaster). The
amount is 18 pounds lawful silver money. Hand signed by Fenn Wardsworth
and William Moseley, as members of the Committee; signed in type by John
Lawrence, Esq; Treasurer. An interesting fiscal document issued during the

CT: State of Connecticut Colonial Currency; denomination 12 pounds, 2
shillings, 11 pence. Date June 1, A.D. 1780. A Connecticut warrant
payable to M. Daniel Cone "who hath served in the Connecticut Line of the
Continental Army". Condition F-VF, few minor edge splits as is
usual, hole cancel as is usual. You can see the interest payment notations on the
back. This note is an extremely historical document which is directly tied
to the American Revolutionary War.
