We have access to many different types of bonds. Please email us with your want list: MurphAssoc@aol.com and we will search our and other inventories for you.
This is a bond of Isaac's Harbor Gold Co. of Nova Scotia. Issued in New
York, for the purchase of mining property. It is dated NY May 23,
1864. It is signed by the secretary and president of the company, in brown
ink. At upper left there is a red seal, below which is a 25 cent U.S.
revenue stamp. They used a life insurance stamp, instead of a stock stamp,
which we think quite unusual. Printer was McCoy & Herwig, Stationers,
112 & 114 Broadway, New York. Bond is fully issued, never
redeemed. Condition as seen in scan, one tiny short split at one fold in
spite of which we find this attractive.
Egypt: A bond certificate with stub, undated, but obviously pre-1952 as
this depicts Farouk, King of Egypt (1936-1952). The bond was issued for
the relief of Palestinian refugees in Egypt, after the creation of the state of
Israel. Denomination or worth, 100 Fils, printed in blue, with Arabic seal
in red. Numbers printed in black. This is an historic document, and
one of the few that we have seen; no issued ones observed. Back is
plain. Condition CU. Beautiful graphics.
Societe des Mines D'Or de Kilo-Moto This bond is dated 6-10-1944 across
the top. We wish we had enough French to translate but we don't.
Note that some of the coupons have been redeemed (folded over, so we show it as
back). We
do know that D'Or refers to gold, and presume that the native at top left,
pushing the mine cart, has come from the gold mine. The top central vignette shows
a native in a canoe, another on the dock, may be a woman; toward the right is a cooking fire, a
grass hut, another boat; many palms on either side. We found the vignette
attractive and bought it for its charm, as much as the idea that this was a gold
mining stock. Make offer.
TWA This is a bond issued to E.F. Hutton Co., Inc. June 8 1961, for One
Hundred Dollars. It is beautifully engraved by the De La Rue Banknote
Company, Inc. Larger than the scanner bed, we have tried to show you the
lovely intricate work on this fiscal document. Redeemed. Sl crease upper
rt corner; see scan. Printed signatures of the President and
Secretary. Would look good framed. $4
