Such an historical document, this is from the United States Senate and dated
July 12, 1939. It refers to a pension for the widow of Lloyd W. Higgins,
who had been a Private 1st. Independent Battery, U.S. Colored Light
Artillery. The letter goes on to discuss that if she is proven to be a
Civil War widow she should get an increase in her pension, from $30 a month to
$40 a month! The signer of this letter is Arthur Capper, who was a
two-term governor of Kansas and a five term senator. The Kansas State
Historical Society has much information about him if you wish to learn
more.
A financial document from Georgia, dated 1832, at the capitol of Milledgeville
(at that time). It is signed by the Treasurer and Comptroller General of
Georgia. This states that there is no claims against several individuals
(named). We assume this means that they owed no taxes to the State of
Georgia. Unusual item. Folded for docketing; paper crisp and
clean.
A business size envelope sent to a Mebane NC address, and the reply envelope
that was included, hopefully to be sent back with an order. Date of
postmark is 1945, Martha Washington 1 1/2 cent stamp. On line

Eric Newman.

Fifty different, unused, pre-prohibition whiskey labels. Colorful and

duplication, all fifty are different. SOLD, but we do have one more,
similar. Please inquire.
